A brochure here, a flyer there, a nice piece of text on the website… But sometimes you want something a little different. How do you ensure your department gets noticed by the right people when you’re part of a huge company? How do you communicate what your department has to offer in a fun way?

In early February, we received a call from BAM Construction and Technology, asking if we could help with a communications issue for the Management & Maintenance department in the Northwest Region. The client wanted a unique way to present their department. “We could certainly incorporate all of this into a comprehensive and robust booklet, but will it stick?” the client wondered aloud during the call. These are the kinds of questions that make us happy at Engine. Presenting information can always be more fun, effective, and appealing. We’re happy to help!

The way to stand out from your competitors? Choose the right communication tools and employ a creative communication concept. After a thorough discussion, we agreed: we’ll present the department in the form of a tabloid. This is fun to hand out to existing and potential clients, and easy for them to open, browse, and pick out what interests them. And it’s also fun to introduce the department’s staff, not just to showcase services. The bright minds behind the services. No newspaper is complete without headlines.

And so we get started – reviewing input, discussing the design, and creating a concept. Oh, and we still need some portrait and project photos for the content? No problem, we have an in-house photographer. This way, you can be sure the photography and design are a match made in heaven!

Photography: check! Design: check! Proofreading: check! And so, a pallet full of newspapers arrives at the client’s door, who enthusiastically sends us a few photos. The end result is exactly what it should be: 16 pages of unique communication. Hot off the press!
